Language Barriers: International Voices in an Anglophone Education System
Seeking scholarly essays and creative nonfiction works for Fall 2005
journal/anthology featuring Language Barriers: International Voices in an
Anglophone Education System. Manuscripts should treat some aspect of the
tension that arises in a cultually monolithic (primarily mono-lingual)
education system as it attempts to support a growing bi-lingual and
multi-lingual student base. Personal experience, administrative
understanding, or teacher-student rapport are all possible points of view
from which to look at the issue. Prose is preferred. Works to be written
in any language between 15 and 20 pages. Other lengths will be considered
based on merit and space available. If writing in a language other than
English, please include an English version with the original foreign
language manuscript whenever possible. The journal/anthology will use both.
Scholarly articles should be referenced using Chicago style. No payment for
scholarly articles. Payment to be negotiated for creative works when
publisher is found.
