"'Integral' means 'inclusive, balanced, comprehensive.' The Integral =
approach may be contrasted to other methods*mythic, rational-scientific, =
pluralistic*which, as they themselves announce, exclude other approaches =
as being inferior. They are thus, by definition, partial and incomplete. =
These latter methods, although widely accepted and dominant in the world's =
cultures, tend to generate partial analysis and incomplete solutions to =
problems. As such, they appear less efficient, less effective, and less =
balanced than the Integral approach." (Integral Institute web site).
As Ken Wilber sets forth in his "AQAL" framework, an integral approach =
examines "all quadrants, all levels, all lines, all types, all stages" of =
a subject. These panels aim to explore the integral approach to a large =
range of areas, and proposals are now being accepted for presentations in =
integral psychology, integral religion, integral science, integral =
sociology, integral literature and any other field in which the presenter =
has researched from an integral perspective. The presentations should =
reference Ken Wilber and his work, and may include any area the presenter =
approaches from this integral, AQAL perspective.=20
Scholars, teachers, professionals, and others interested in Integral =
Studies and Ken Wilber are encouraged to participate. Graduate students =
are also particularly welcome with award opportunities for best graduate =
papers. =20
