CALL FOR PAPERS
This conference is an opportunity for postgraduates and academics in the UK

trends that influence the study of the long eighteenth century. The aim is
to open a dialogue between different approaches, theories, and
methodologies applied within and across disciplines and to encourage
reflection on the present and future directions in the study of the
eighteenth century and Romanticism. We invite 20-minute papers on any
aspect of the period, including its literature, history, philosophy,
science, art, visual culture, law, architecture, gardening, music, and
economics.
Topics to be addressed can include, but are not limited to:
- Enlightened Romanticism – Romantic Enlightenment - Politics, culture and
ideology - The construction and nature of evidence - Eighteenth-century
spaces - Alternative subjectivities: body, mind and the external world -
Text, context, language - Sexuality, identity, and genre - National crises
