We invite papers and panel proposals on the topic of "Regional Mothers
and Motherhood" for the 37th annual meeting of CEA. The general
conference theme is "Regions."

Papers may address ways in which art, film, literature, and other media
have used the figure of the mother to define, represent, reinscribe,
cross, blur, deconstruct, or transgress geographical, historical,
cultural, and/or ideological regions. Please interpret the conference
theme broadly.

Submit abstracts of no more than 500 words by November 1, 2005.

a proposal, please paste it into the body of the email message, rather
than attaching a separate file.
