UPDATE: Medieval Studies: Bedroom Culture and Potions (no deadline; Kalamazoo, 5/4/06-5/7/06)

Call For Papers: International Congress on Medieval Studies at Western
Michigan University (May 4-7, 2006):
The UC Davis Medieval Research Consortium invites abstracts of 20-minute
papers for the following sponsored sessions:
1) A session on "Potions and Charms: Artifice and Manipulation" which
addresses the role of magical implements by exploring their manipulation
as both a rhetorical and a creative force in several medieval texts.
2) A session on "Bedroom Culture: Intimacy, Incest and Redemption" which
focuses not only on the issue of incest but raises the question of the
redemptive quality of love in medieval Romances.
Please send 500 word abstracts by email attachment.
Include complete contact information and any A.V. requirements. We
welcome submissions from graduate students as well as independent and
established scholars.
