"Faith, Friendship, Fiction"
The conference theme focuses on the conditions which forged these
writers' mythopoeic and theological notions. Scholarly and thematic
papers examining the impact of Christian faith and friendship upon the
fictional works of Lewis, Tolkien, and other Inklings are especially
welcome.
Papers and proposals are also invited exploring all aspects of the life,
times, and writings of the Inklings, including literary influences and
predecessors - ranging from Medieval epic to 19th-century fairy tale to
20th-century science fiction - that drew these Oxford writers together.
Scholars as well as students, both graduate and undergraduate, are
invited to submit proposals.
Deadline for proposals: December 16, 2005. You must be registered as a
member of CSLIS <http://www.okcu.edu/english/cslis/membership.html> to
participate.
