The World Wide Web has become a major venue for literary and artistic
publication, sales, and criticism. We are seeking paper proposals
related to the growth of arts publications and business opportunities on
the Web. Any paper that helps to advance the study of these phenomena is
appropriate. Papers may analyze specific Web sites, including sites
developed by artists and writers to promote their own works and careers.
Papers may also focus on the challenges of online publishing; on
editing; on marketing; on exhibition design; on the politics of
publication; on libraries and museums; and on sites designed primarily
to serve scholars or to make accessible online works by well-known
writers and artists of the past. Pedagogical topics are also
appropriate. The papers should be more than descriptive, and may include
analysis from any humanities, social science, or arts perspective.

The conference, which began as a regional meeting, is currently
national--even international--in scope.

For Paper Proposals:
Please submit: 1) a 100-200-word abstract by November 15, 2005
(preferably in the body of an email); 2) contact information: address,
phone number(s), fax number, and email address; 3) a biographical note
in which you outline your career and/or define your connection to the
topic. However, you do not need to prove expertise in the area of your
proposed presentation. Graduate students, independent researchers,
writers and artists, and Website designers are welcome.
