Call for Papers
ATTW @ CEA 2005:
Reading the Regions | Writing the Regions | Teaching the Regions

Deadline: 1 November 2005
Submission: 200-word abstracts submitted online at http://english.ttu.edu/CEA/index.html

The Association of Teachers of Technical Writing invites submission of abstracts for presentations in ATTW-sponsored sessions at the College English Association's 37th annual meeting, April 6 - 8, 2006 in San Antonio, Texas. This will be the third year ATTW has sponsored panels at CEA.

ATTW welcomes submissions for presentations or panels on any topic related to technical, business, or scientific communication. But we especially encourage proposals that complement the CEA's conference-wide theme, "Reading the Regions / Writing the Regions / Teaching the Regions" (see http://www2.widener.edu/~cea/conference2006.htm).

For example, scholars in technical, scientific, and business communication might focus on topics that address issues of regions such as these:

* Tech comm across global regions
* Localization and globalization
* Communities and technical communication
* Disciplinary regions: the academy, the workplace
* Ideological regions: rhetoric and the landscape of power
* Tech comm on the coasts or in the heartland
* Tech comm and public information
* Tech comm and governments: federal, state, local

Note to graduate students:
Graduate students may compete for the CEA Best Papers Award, which carries a $50 prize. For consideration, upload your paper to the submission database by 1 March 2005.
