The Twentieth Anniversary Conference
will be held in Vancouver May 24th-28, 2006.

Call for submissions: Submission Deadline: December 15, 2005
Submissions can be sent to: Vancouver2006_at_aicw.ca

Program submissions are now being invited for the Twentieth Anniversary =
AICW
Conference to be held in Vancouver, BC, Canada. A variety of session =
formats
are available and formats that encourage involvement and participation =
are
particularly welcome. Sessions will given in English, predominantly. =
French
and Italian are also welcome.

We invite participants to explore the ideas of immigrant and artistic
license and the role of the writer. By an "immigrant license" we hope to
open the subject of "rights" (either given, taken or misrepresented). =
How
does the writer travel, find home, identify with place, translate or =
change?
We welcome poetry, fiction and literary essays. We will have one panel
entitled 20 years of Change, which explores the changes that have taken
place for Canadian writers over the last twenty years. Please note: this =
is
simply a starting point for what should be a lively conference dedicated =
to
writers' issues, problems and new works. Most of the sessions will be =
panel
presentations, with room for discussion, debate and (in some cases)
interviews.

Confirmed events: Friday night fiction reading at the Institute of =
Italian
Cultural Studies.

Main conference headquarters: The University of British Columbia Hotel &
Accommodation: Our delegates, members and conference participants will =
be
staying at UBC's Gage Towers and West Coast Suites, from May 25th to May
28th. Standard Single Rooms (shared bathroom) are available for $47. =
Studio
Suites for $77. 1-Bdrm (Suite with Queen bed): $96. And West Coast =
Suites
(two twin beds and pullout Queen) for: $116. (plus tax). Housekeeping
service.
