The American Indians Today Area chair invites you to submit papers for a
special emphasis panel/workshop in American Indian Film for the
Southwest Texas/American Popular Culture Association's 27th "Annual
Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, February 8-11, 2006.=20

The Panel/Workshop: Teaching American Indian Film

=20

Presentations on the Teaching of American Indian Film courses may
include any aspect of: American Indians in Hollywood film; American
Indian filmmakers; Issues in American Indian film. The purpose is to
initiate dialogue about teaching film in American Indian Studies,
English, and Film Studies programs. Topics may include new directions
in Native media, approaches to teaching American Indian film, issues
addressed in Native media, materials used, materials needed. It is
possible that a collection of essays might emerge from discussions that
will result in a textbook with a strong Native voice for programs
teaching Native American film.
