Acacia Group's 2006 Conference: Politicizing texts
The Acacia Group of California State University, Fullerton is seeking paper=
s=20
for our 2006 conference to be held February 17 and 18, 2006. We are =20
interested in papers/presentations for the following suggested panel:

Crossing Disciplinary Boundaries=20
Much of the literary theory we study derives from areas of study other than=
=20
literature. For instance, Jacques Derrida was a philosopher. How can using=20
different perspectives/approaches to understanding from separate discipline=
s=20
enhance each other? Can you present two thinkers from separate disciplines=20
(music and literature; science and literature; visual or plastic arts and=20
literature; philosophy and literature; science and visual arts; philosophy=20=
and=20
literature; physics and philosophy; history and literature; for example=E2=
=80=94but feel=20
free to think of others) in a paper and discuss the ways in which they =20
engage/complement/challenge each other=E2=80=99s thought/approach/work?

We are accepting completed paper submissions only, no abstracts, please. =20
Creative writing/productions/performance contributions are encouraged to =20
function as commentaries on or expressions of any and all topics listed, or,=
they=20
may be submitted individually for special panel consideration. Submissions =20=
that=20
will not be presented in written form (performances, art, etc.) must includ=
e=20
a brief (1-2) page explanation of the submission's relevance to the =20
topic/theme, materials used, and concepts explored. All presentations, wheth=
er =20
written, performed, or shown, may not exceed 20 minutes.
