CFP: Kay Boyle (1/6/06; ALA, 5/25/06-5/28/06)
As part of an effort to establish an author society devoted to the study
of the work of Kay Boyle, a Kay Boyle session will be held at the
forthcoming American Literature Association conference. The conference
will be held at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco, 5 Embarcadero Center,
San Francisco, California, May 25-28, 2006. Details of the conference
and information about hotel reservations appear on the Web site of the
American Literature Association.=20
The topic of the session is open. However, papers on any of the
following general topics are encouraged.=20
* Early Kay Boyle, including her recently published novel
Process.
* Kay Boyle in the Twenties or Kay Boyle as a modernist writer.
* Kay Boyle's international perspectives.
* Feminist approaches to Kay Boyle's work.
* Teaching Kay Boyle's work.
Please send one-page proposals to Professor Christine Hait, Department
of English, Columbia College, Columbia, SC 29203. Proposals may also be
sent by e-mail to Professor Hait at chrishait_at_colacoll.edu. The
deadline for submissions is January 6, 2006.
