Rutgers-Camden English Graduate Student Association (RCEGSA) invites papers from graduate students for an interdisciplinary conference on the theme of "Re-visioning the Canon". Papers may demonstrate a wide range of approaches including, but not restricted to:
Children's literature
Gothic Literature
Multicultural approaches
Theory and criticism's place in the "canon"
Feminist readings/additions
Comparative literature
Pedagogical approaches to teaching beyond the traditional canon.
The one day conference will be held on March 25, 2006 from 8:30am-5:30pm (UPDATED TIME). We are delighted to have as our keynote speaker Dr. Ulrich Knoepflmacher of Princeton University, who will be tackling our theme from a variety of approaches, including his specialty of children's literature. Best paper awards will be announced at the end of the day during the afternoon reception so plan on staying to find out if your paper has been selected. Must be present to receive award.
MLA format is preferred. Completed papers or 500 word abstracts (completed papers must be in by January 30 (NEW DATE) in order to be considered for a best paper award equalling $100's in book gift certificates!) should be sent by January 30, 2006 to
