Call for Papers

The H.D. International Society is calling for papers to be delivered at =
its panel =93Approaches to Teaching H.D.=94 at the American Literature =
Association Conference in San Francisco, May 25-28.

H.D. is now included in all of the major anthologies, her previously =
unpublished work is appearing in print, the number of reference books =
dedicated to her work continues to grow, and her poetry and prose are =
widely taught. Nonetheless, her work, like most modernist writing, can =
be dense and difficult to teach. This panel seeks papers that present =
successful ways of teaching her poetry, prose, nonfiction essays, =
translations, or films. =20

Also, the H.D. International Society has some exciting news in =
conjunction with the ALA panel. The Co-Chairs of the Society, Annette =
Debo and Lara Vetter, have received approval from MLA to begin work on =
_Approaches to Teaching H.D.=92s Poetry and Prose_. In February, we =
will be sending out questionnaires soliciting information on how H.D. is =
currently taught and requesting abstracts for short essays to be =
considered for the volume. =20

Please send abstracts of 250-500 words for the ALA panel by January 20 =
to both Annette Debo (adebo_at_wcu.edu) and Lara Vetter =
(lvetter_at_email.uncc.edu); no attachments please. If you would like to =
receive an MLA questionnaire, please send us your contact information by =
January 20 as well.
