CFP: Creative Nonfiction Special Session (2/15/06; SCMLA, 10/26/06-10/28/06)
South Central Modern Language Association
Call for Papers for 2006 Conference
October 26-28
Fort Worth, Texas
Radisson Plaza Hotel
Theme: "Cultural Roundup"
The Creative Nonfiction Special Session is accepting papers considering CNF
as a frontier of gender, religion, race, ethnicity, and/or sexuality, a
landscape where popular/canonical cultures intersect as vision and culture.
Email abstracts or papers by February 15 to stella_thompson_at_pvamu.edu and
copy to jthompson39_at_houston.rr.com.
Papers may address directly or indirectly any topic(s) related to the
conference theme, in keeping with the landscape of history and cultural
change. In the spirit of this literary "round up," the Creative Nonfiction
session will consider any metaphorical applications incorporating literary
and creative, fiction and nonfiction, techniques to investigate any
appropriate text(s) or literary/linguistic experience from the standpoint of
gender, religion, race, ethnicity, and sexuality or explorations of how any
popular and canonical cultures intersect.
