THIRD ANNUAL AUSTIN COLLEGE UNDERGRADUATE CONFERENCE IN THE HUMANITIES:
Gender and the Humanities
April 21-23, 2006
Austin College invites submission of essays related to gender, especially
in the humanities.
Topics include but are not limited to:
* (Acceptance of) Transgendered people
* Alternative families
* Challenge of traditional gender categories
* Construction and gendering of bodies
* Feminist theory and criticism
* Gay and lesbian marriage
* Gender in popular culture and media
* Gender and queer theory
* Gender in art/literature or films/theater
* Gender in history
* Homophobia
* Masculinity studies
* Power relationships and gender
* Race and gender
Priority deadline is February 28th, 2006.
Abstracts should be 100-300 words
