NINETEENTH-CENTURY REPRODUCTION

The Nineteenth-Century Forum at Temple University seeks papers for
its first interdisciplinary graduate student conference. Proposals
are invited for 15-20 minute presentations that consider reproduction
in the nineteenth century, broadly construed. Topics might include
but are not limited to:

*Birth, maternity, obstetrics, contraception, children
*Evolution, population, race, cultural anthropology
*Inheritance, class, empire
*Photography, early cinema, painting, and other visual arts
*Mass production, printing technology, book history, print culture,
copyright
*Realism, sensation, auto/biography,
*20th- and 21st-c. adaptations of 19th-c. literature or culture
Send a 300-word proposal and one-page CV by May 1, 2006 to
