UDPATE: College English Association of Ohio Spring Conference (3/2/06; 4/28/06)
The College English Association of Ohio (CEAO) invites panels, papers,
and roundtables for our conference theme of: "Strategies for
teaching, learning and scholarship in literature and composition".
Topics might
include: articulation, licensure, two- and four- year institutions,
cohorts, pedagogy, technology, composition, upper-division writing,
rhetoric, literature, secondary and post-secondary institutions,
collaboration, writing centers, or other related topics. Papers on
other topics will also be considered.
CEAO welcomes proposals from graduate students, adjunct and part-time
instructors, full-time faculty, as well as individuals living/working
both inside Ohio and outside Ohio.
The Keynote Address will be provided by Dr. Pamela Takayoshi,
Associate Professor at Kent State University. Dr. Takayoshi has
published and presented in journals and book collections on the
various ways writing technologies mediate American lives in and out of
the classroom. She is the author of numerous articles and book
chapters and co-editor of three collections focused on writing studies
and technologies, including Teaching Writing with Computers: An
Introduction, which earned the 2003 Distinguished Book Award from
Computers and Composition: An International Journal for Teachers of
Writing. Dr. Takayoshi is currently at work on a book about young
people's literate practices with technologies.
The conference will be held on Friday, April 28, 2006 at Spangler
Library on the campus of Ohio Dominican University, Columbus, Ohio,
43219.
