Papers are invited for the 2006 edition of the journal of new poetry of African expressions NP Vol 1 No. 3 2006. The Journal of New Poetry (internationally refereed) is an online project of the International Research Confederacy on African Literature and Culture [IRCALC] which previously edited the New Nigerian Poetry Journal. The Journal of New Poetry of African expressions [NP] is an expansion of our editorial scope to reflect the global dimension of ircalc's efforts in African literary and cultural appreciation. By African expressions we refer to materials from both the geographical Africa and the island of Madagascar and the heritage that includes other members of the African Diaspora across the Americas, Europe, the Caribbean Islands, etc. This globalised focus is intended to improve past reliance upon restrictive national boundaries which exclude broader and more beneficial contributions from the diverse cultural formations that have impacted Africa's historicity and !
 charted
its literary progress on till the millennium.
Since the IRCALC editorial objective requires that submissions must address topics and issues that have some connection (or comparative relevance if not African) to an African heritage, we are therefore looking for expressions featuring essays, poetry and poetry book reviews which address contemporary movements within African nationalities and reflect issues of memory, aesthetics, and self. In view of the dearth of new critical developments in Africa's national and ethnic literatures, contemporary writings: poems (of any length and number), articles (4000-6000 words) and reviews (2000-4000 words) are specifically encouraged. We request scholars and contributors to adopt the MLA parenthetical citation format in their essays and reviews. The deadline is April 2006 and submissions should be sent via email attachments to the editors care of gmtemezue_at_yahoo.com or directly to IRCALC editorial board ircalc_at_africaresearch.info
