Plenary Speaker: Dr. Margaret Cohen, Professor of French and
Comparative Literature, Stanford University. Dr. Cohen is Andrew B.
Hammond Professor of French Language, Literature and Civilization; and
the Director of the Center for the Study of the Novel

Now accepting abstracts in English or in French for our annual Graduate
Student Conference. The theme is open to all periods and aspects of
French and Francophone literature, thought and the
history of ideas, cultural studies, film, and critical theory. This
is an interdisciplinary conference open to different methodologies
and theoretical approaches, thus presentations about English
language representations of France and the French-speaking world are
welcome. Graduate students enrolled in MA/Ph.D. programs are
encouraged to submit.

Send abstracts of 200 words maximum, followed by bibliography of
primary and critical sources(as in-line text or attachment) and an
abridged curriculum vitae to lachelle_at_umail.ucsb.edu by April 5, 2006.
Please use "Grad Student Conference" as subject line of email.
Participants will be notified via email by April 15, 2006.
Paper presentations should not exceed 20 minutes. Proposals for panels
are welcome.
