The Seventh Annual Graduate English Conference

I am seeking papers from graduate students that examine
mythologization in comics. Which myths, legends and folktales have
been retold? Where do these retellings remain faithful and how do
they depart from the original stories? What does this suggest about
motifs and topologies? These and other similar questions are the focus
of the Visual Studies: Mythology in Comics panel.

Please submit a 250-350 word abstract in the body of the e-mail or as
a Word (.doc) attachment by Mar. 15, 2006 to raneyv2_at_southernct.edu or
raneyv_at_juno.com. Include your full name, institutional affiliation, e-
mail, mailing address, and title of presentation. Notifications of
acceptance will be made by Apr. 3, 2006, with papers due by Apr. 15,
2006. Final papers should be about six pages (15 minutes in length).
