Mid-Atlantic Popular/American Culture Association
2006 Annual Conference - Baltimore, MD October 27-29

The Latino/a Area Studies is interested in proposals for papers that =
look at
all aspects of Latino/a popular culture-its production (abroad or in the
U.S.), its consumption, and intersections with race, ethnicity, gender =
and
sexuality from any disciplinary approach. Some areas individuals might
consider exploring, but are not limited to, are: =
Revisiting/Reinterpreting
Machismo/Marianismo, Latinization of U.S. culture/Americanization of
Latino/Latin American culture, Portrayals of Latinos on U.S. and Latino
media (U.S./International). Papers should be delivered in English. =
