CALL FOR PAPERS
DaVinci to Derrida: Breaking Codes Across Disciplines ***Open to faculty,
graduates, and undergraduates
Texas A&M University - Commerce will hold the 15th Annual English Graduates
for Academic Development (EGAD) conference on October 27, 2006. Submissions
should be made by August 16, 2006.
This year's keynote speaker is George Getschow, Mayborn
Writer-in-Residence at the University of North Texas. He is also former
bureau chief of the Wall Street Journal for Dallas and Houston. In 1983, he
was runner-up for the Pulitzer Prize in the national reporting category for
a series of stories about labor camps of the Southwest.
Now accepting proposals for papers and panels dealing with contemporary
issues in academia. We welcome submissions from all areas of academic
discourse including, but not limited to: English, History, Journalism,
Political Science, Education, Psychology, and Sociology.
Suggested areas of interest:
Panels will be organized by topic.

To apply, send an abstract of 250-500 words. Electronic submissions encouraged. Panel proposals and workshops are welcome. Notification of acceptance and conference registration materials will be mailed electronically by September 8, 2006. Conference registration is $20. If you wish to attend the conference
luncheon, the cost is an additional $15.
