CFP: Teaching American Literature: A Journal of Theory and Practice (9/1/06; journal issue)

full name / name of organization:
Patricia Bostian

Teaching American Literature: A Journal of Theory and Practice (TALTP) is looking for contributors for its inaugural issue to be published online (web site still under construction).

We are looking to help college English instructors find new ways of approaching the ever-expanding variety of voices included in today's American literature courses. TALTP is open to graduate students, adjuncts, and two-year college instructors, as well as professors at four-year colleges and universities. We are looking for articles that offer new ways of teaching American literature, theoretical musings, and introductions to minor or lost authors. We are especially interested in articles that offer insights into teaching with the Heath and Norton mega-anthologies. Also important are articles exploring the use of the vast resources of the media and the Internet to teach American literature.

Please send 250-word abstracts in MLA format to Patricia.Bostian_at_cpcc.edu <mailto:Patricia.Bostian_at_cpcc.edu> (subject line TALTP) before September 1. Articles for accepted abstracts will be due by December 31.
