We are extending the deadline for submissions to the volume Fantasy
Fiction into Film until June 15th (although consideration of chapters
has already begun).
The original add is below. In addition, we would like to emphasize that
this volume already has a publisher. Thank you in advance for your
interest and submissions.

> Fantasy Fiction into Film
> A Collection
> We are soliciting manuscripts and proposals for an edited collection
> tentatively entitled Fantasy Fiction into Film. The intellectual
> lynchpin of this volume is the transition from text to the screen. The
> essays should focus on the transformation of novel/short story/etc.
> into film, the deletions, additions, and revisions from written to
> cinematic narrative. We encourage essays on Peter Jackson's Lord of
> the Rings series, as well as The Chronicles of Narnia and Harry
> Potter. The list of applicable movies, however, could also include
> Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Polar Express, The Wizard of
> Oz, Mary Poppins, The Witches, Ella Enchanted, Finding Neverland,
> Nanny McPhee etc.
> We invite proposals, but we will be unable to make a final decision
> until we have seen a complete draft. Submissions should be documented
> in MLA style and should be formatted in Word. Please do not use an
> auto-numbering system for the endnotes in the final copy. The essays
> should not exceed twenty pages. Those submissions that are accepted
> must be submitted on diskette and must be accompanied by a permission
> letter the details of which will be stipulated at the time of
> acceptance. Deadline for submission of completed drafts is May 15 2006.
> We encourage E-mail submissions which can be sent to one or both of the
> following addresses:
> lstratyn_at_muw.edu or jrk_at_muw.edu
> Other submissions and inquiries may be made to
> Dr. Leslie Stratyner or Dr. James Keller
