The Detective Fiction area of the Mid-Atlantic Popular/American Culture =
Association seeks proposals for the organization's Annual Conference, =
Oct. 27-29, 2006 in Baltimore Maryland.

Proposals may address any period of mystery/detective fiction from the =
nineteenth through the twenty-first century. Specific topics might =
include individual authors; the development of the genre or various =
sub-genres; distinct types such as the historical, police procedural, =
hard-boiled, amateur detective, academic detective, cozy, regional, =
etc.; or themes such as violence, the city, reason and analysis, =
history, nostalgia, place or setting, love and sexuality, gender, etc. =
Proposals that address the intersection of detective fiction with other =
media (e.g., graphic novels, film, television, etc.) and other genres =
(e.g., sci-fi, horror, domestic fiction, etc.) are especially welcome. =
Proposals should be limited to 250 words. Please include address, phone =
number, e-mail address, and university or professional affiliation.
