Essays and Criticism on Contemporary Great Plains/High Plains Poets

Dear Poetry Reader, Scholar, Lover, Writer,

Greg Kosmicki of The Backwaters Press and I both love good poetry criticism
and would like to put together a book of critical articles about Great
Plains/High Plains poetry. Is there enough good criticism of the poets and
poetry of the Great Plains/High Plains out there in America to make a book?
It never hurts to ask.

How do we define a Great Plains/High Plains poet? We are looking for essays
and articles about poetry and poets who live in or write about the
geographical area from the Missouri River to the Rocky Mountains, from Texa=
to the grasslands of Canada. We encourage anyone with something interesting
to say, whether you are a professor, a seamstress, or a cubicle dweller, to

Please send electronic copies (in the form of Word or RTF files or in the
body of an

e-mail) of your critical essays or articles about Great Plains/High Plains
poetry to us at by *May 31, 2007*. Please also
include a short (100 word or less) biographical note with your submissions=

As payment, each contributor will receive 2 copies of the completed
perfect-bound volume, and all contributors will be able to order copies fro=
the press at half of the cover price. The book will be distributed through
Ingram and, and will be listed in Bowker's *Books in Print.* We
hope to publish the book in the spring of 2008.

Thank you for your time and attention. Please forward this message to anyon=
who may be interested.
