UPDATE: The Ambrose Bierce Project (8/15/06; e-journal)
UPDATE: In addition to the essays already solicited, The Ambrose Bierce Project (http://www.ambrosebierce.org) is seeking literary briefs on the following short stories:
"A Son of the Gods"
"One Kind of Officer"
"A Tough Tussle"
"The Coup de Grâce"
"One Officer, One Man"
"Parker Adderson, Philosopher"
"An Affair of Outposts"
"Jupiter Doke, Brigadier-General"
"A Horseman in the Sky?
"Killed at Resaca"
"The Damned Thing"
"Moxon's Master"
"The Man and the Snake"
Each brief should offer a critical perspective on the featured Bierce story. Published examples can be found at http://www.ambrosebierce.org/journal.html . Briefs should not exceed 2,000 words, but should include scholarly notes. All submissions will undergo a blind peer review. Accepted briefs will appear in the fall issue.
