PROPOSAL SUBMISSION DEADLINE UPDATE: NOVEMBER 1, 2006
We are considering proposals for session organized around a theme, =
special panels, and/or individual papers. Sessions are scheduled in 1 =
hour slots, usually with 4 papers/speakers per session.
We welcome any topics pertaining to the studies of gender, sexuality, =
and popular culture=97regarding heterosexual, gay, bisexual, or =
transgender men and/or women=97and are especially interested in the =
following subjects:
=95 literature
=95 media
=95 fashion/beauty
=95 marketing/advertising =20
=95 men=92s roles (under attack? redefinition? etc.)
=95 internet (including porn, hookup sites)
=95 intersection/other relation of gender & sexuality (the desirability =
of the =93straight-acting gay man=94 among gay men)
=95 trends in heterosexual male self-image (metrosexual, machosexual, =
etc.)
=95 theory
If you or any your colleagues are interested in submitting a proposal or =
have questions, please contact the area chair. Submit a one-page =
(150-250 words) abstract (via e-mail, preferably) by November 1, 2006, =
