        The conference will be held at Jamestown Community College in Jamestown, NY. The conference is on 10/21/06; a pre-conference dinner and session will be on 10/20/06.

         

        The conference brings together educators from across the curriculum to discuss content area literacy, critical thinking, and writing across the curriculum. Proposals on specific programs, issues and strategies, research, or panel discussion are welcome. Proposals may deal with concrete activities, theoretical stances or somewhere in between. Subjects may range from the humanities, art, and philosophy to social sciences, business, science, and nature education.

         

        Keynote Speaker: Stewart Brower

         

        Submissions should include:

        - Phone number, e-mail address, and mailing address of presenter(s)

        - Type of presentation (panel or individual)

        - Presentation description. 75-150 words. If possible, include intended audience (teachers new to the field, middle school, high school, early college, etc.)

        - Primary Thread (composition/writing across the curriculum, critical thinking, and content area reading)
