This area is a new area that we feel deserves attention and that we are
trying to "grow." Therefore, the field for the types of presentations th=
at
can be included is fairly wide open. It can include presentations about
Spanish language Children's/Young Adult literature and culture issues,
whether those items are produced in Spanish-speaking nations or
other-languaged areas of the world. These presentations may also include
cross-cultural issues (bilingual, English as a Second Language for Spanis=
h
speakers, the problems and/or benefits of importing/exporting cultural
elements from Spanish cultures to other cultures, etc). While the
presentations will be delivered in Spanish during the sessions, presenter=
s
should have a 500 word abstract in English available to distribute to
non-Spanish speakers who might be interested in the topic.=0D
=0D
Interdisciplinary approaches and all scholarly fields are welcome. Also,=
as
this is a popular culture conference, presentations that depart from
traditional reading of papers are highly encouraged and welcomed.=20
Presenters also need not have a university affiliation; we embrace all fo=
rms
of experiential knowledge potential presenters might offer. Graduate
students are especially encouraged to submit proposals.=0D
