CFP: Flannery O'Connor Review (1/31/07; journal issue)
Reading O'Connor Through a Multi-focal Lens
In recent years, black feminist critical practice has demonstrated the
value of moving away from strictly racial understandings of identity and
textuality, offering examples of critical practice that accounts for
multiple subject positions including gender, class, and sexuality. In an
effort to expand its scope, the Flannery O'Connor Review is seeking
submissions that bring such insights to bear on O'Connor's work. The
articles selected will be published in a special feature of Volume 6
(August 2008). Topics addressed could include: narrative approaches,
representations of children and family, cross-racial relationships between
women, intra-racial class differentiation, or representations of
masculinity. Other approaches also welcome. Abstracts should be submitted
by January 31, 2007. Completed papers will be due by June 15, 2007.
