CFP: Computer Culture topics: Literary and Visual Arts on the Web (11/15/06; SW/TX PCA/ACA, 2/14/07-2/17/07)
CALL FOR PAPERS: Albuquerque, New Mexico, February 14-17, 2007
Computer Culture Area, 2007 Southwest/Texas Popular Culture
Association/American Culture Association Annual Meeting
http://www.h-net.org/~swpca/
We are seeking paper and panel proposals on topics related to the
Internet publication of literary and visual arts. We plan to develop a
series of panels on topics such as online magazines (including
student-run publications), online editing, Web design, and online art
galleries. Papers may focus on various technical and aesthetic
dimensions of artistic representation on the Web. In addition to
scholarly analyses and historical studies, we are interested in
presentations by artists and editors, and by writers who maintain their
own Web pages. Feel free to query with other related ideas.
For Paper Proposals:
Please submit a brief abstract embedded in the body of an email by
November 15. Include contact information (your postal and preferred
email address, phone and fax numbers, etc.) and a biographical note
about your connection to the topic.
For Panel and Other Proposals, such as Performances:
Query first. Panel, roundtable, and other proposals should include all
of the information requested for individual paper proposals, as well as
a 100-word statement of the panel's rationale and any noteworthy
organizational features.
Proposals are welcome from any and all scholars, editors, artists,
technicians, and designers, including graduate students and independent
scholars.
