FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS
=20
THIRD HULL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
THE WORK OF PHILIP LARKIN
=20
LARKIN'S ELSEWHERES
=20
During the decade since the first conference, 'New Larkins for Old', =
significant changes have occurred in Larkin's reputation, and also in =
the cultural context in which his work is received. Far from losing its =
relevance in the new millennium Larkin's poetry continues to attract new =
young readers. It is hoped that a focus on 'elsewhere' in Larkin's work =
will help throw light on his enduring appeal. The conference will be =
held, like the first two, in the University at which Larkin worked, and =
in the city in which he lived for three decades. The programme will =
include visits to places of biographical interest to Larkin's readers.
