The Stony Brook Manhattan Graduate Conference, the longest running
interdisciplinary graduate student conference in the nation, welcomes
papers and panels from all disciplines within the Humanities.

Papers might address but are certainly not limited to:

*Narratives of Dominance and Subversion
*Gender Boundaries
*History and Textuality
*Negotiations of Hybridity
*Post and Neocolonialisms
*The State of Theory
*Knowledge Production
*Politics of Translation
*The Transgendered Body
*The Image and the Word: National Narratives and Political Cartoons
*Popular Culture
*Drama and Performance Theory
*Trauma Studies
*Representations of Africa
*Hispanic Literatures
*Film Studies
*Activism and Philosophy

Those interested in participating should submit their abstracts to
Kathleen Hankinson and Rachel Walsh at In the
body of the email, please include your University affiliation, abstract,
and whether or not you will require any visual aid equipment for your
presentation. If you wish to propose a panel, please include within the
body of the email or as a word document attachment the abstracts of
those presenters who wish to participate in the panel. Abstracts must
be submitted by Dec. 22nd, 2006. Applicants will be notified of their
acceptance shortly after the December deadline.
