UPDATE: Literature & the Visual Arts (11/3/06; PCA/ACA, 4/4/07-4/7/07)
Literature and Visual Arts Section
PCA/ACA 2007 National Conference
Boston Marriott Copley Place,
Boston, Massachusetts
April 4 - 7, 2007
UPDATED Deadline for submission: November 3, 2006
The terms "literature" and "visual art" are traditionally
associated with high culture, but they should probably
be uncapitalized for this conference, where we encourage
discussion of work on the margins of these categories.
Often there are presentations on book illustrations, but
recently the trend of presentations has turned to literature/
film crossovers (as in BRIDE AND PREDJUDICE and
MACBOOL) and even comic books (the SPIDER-MAN:
INDIA series). We have had presentations on novels
inspired by photographs and poems linked to paintings.
The former chair of this section will be at the conference
this year, delivering a paper inspired by his present trip
to India.
This is an exciting, open, and ever-changing area.
If you have an idea you'd like to present, please send
an abstract of about 200 words to the address below.
Deadline for submission: November 3, 2006
