CALL FOR PAPERS
As Area Chair for the SPORTS AREA
of the Popular Culture Association and
the American Culture Association,
I invite proposals for individual presentations
or panels to be presented at the
POPULAR CULTURE ASSOCIATION
& AMERICAN CULTURE ASSOCIATION
2007 JOINT CONFERENCE
to be held at the
BOSTON MARRIOTT COPLEY PLACE
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
April 4-7, 2007
UPDATED Submission Deadline: 3 November 2006
Papers or presentations should be planned for no more
than twenty minutes and should emphasize audience
involvement and aim at stimulating questions and discussion.
Media presentations are especially welcomed. We will be
happy to supply DVD players and TV monitors. We will
probably have no other AV available.
Topics related to any and all aspects of sports and sports
history in the New England and Massachusetts are especially
invited. Topics on all areas of sports (history, literature,
sociology, physical education and recreation, current issues,
etc.) are welcomed.
The absolute deadline for a 250-word abstract is November 3,
2006. Inquiries about possible papers or proposals for sessions
are also welcomed. There will be a strict limitation of one
presentation per person for this conference. All presenters
must register for the convention and be a current member
of either the PCA or the ACA. Pre-registration for the meeting
is required to ensure participants will have their names listed
in the conference program. Please include a mailing address
on all e-mails.
If your paper is accepted, you will receive an acceptance letter,
registration information, the information you'll need to join
the PCA/ACA, and the room reservation information.
