The 2007 Conference, hosted by the Department of Comparative World =
Literature and Classics at Cal State University, Long Beach, invites =
paper and panel proposals on a full range of topics addressing writings =
by and about women and the feminine in the Medieval and Renaissance =
periods. Papers with comparative topics and methodologies are especially =
welcome. Please limit proposals to 150- 300 words.

Medieval and Early Modern female authors and/or figures
Depictions of the feminine in Medieval, Renaissance and Early Modern =
literature
Contemporary invocations of medieval femininity
The medieval woman as cinematic object
Women and hagiography
Religious education and women
Queens
Women and the Arts
Notions of selfhood, beauty and representation of the feminine
Mothers, daughters, and matriarchy
Femininity, female sexuality, and cultural anxiety
