What does it mean that Dickinson?s business is circumference, that ? bride =

of awe,? that entity between ?place? and ?presence?? This is one of the=20
most perennially vexing questions in Dickinson scholarship, one worth=20
revisiting in light of new understandings of Dickinson?s poems, letters,=20
and life.
