The Departments of English Philology I and II, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, are calling for papers on the topics listed below for the VIII Conference on Women's Studies. The Organizing Committee for this Conference, featuring national and international speakers, will publish selected texts in the Women's Studies Series, Vol. VI.
Sessions: 20 minutes, plus 10 for questions
Topics (suggested but not limited to):
Ø Violation of women's human rights.
Ø Representations of female "terror" (Gothic, legend, dystopian literature, science fiction, etc.)
Ø The female body as a site of shame and abjectedness
Ø Domestic violence and its representations.
Ø Women as colonized subjects.
Ø Women as victims throughout history
Ø Women and negative myths
Ø Women and war
Ø Women as agents of terror

· Texts of approximately 2,500 words (9 pages, double spaced), including notes and bibliography
