Submissions are invited for two sessions hosted by the Margaret Fuller Society
at the American Literature Association Meeting, Westin Copley Place in
Boston, MA, 24-27 May 2007.

Call for papers (2 sessions)

1) First session: Open topic
20-minute papers may be on any aspect of Fuller's life and works, including her
relations to other writers, social movements, and cultural contexts.

2) Second session: Transatlantic Fuller.
20-minute papers are invited addressing such topics as Fuller's travels to
Britain and the Continent; comparisons of her to British and/or Continental
writers (e.g., de Stael, Goethe, Jameson, Carlyle); Fuller's analysis of
American cultural achievements in relation to those of Europe. The session
will probably draw upon Fuller's New-York Tribune writing and letters in
addition to Woman in the Nineteenth Century .

Please send 1-2 page proposals and a 1-2 page cv by 15 January 2007. Please
indicate any A/V requirements.
