Canonical Texts / Textuality of Canons

We invite papers and panel proposals on topics that investigate any
of the following topics. While we are particularly interested in
proposals that focus on the conference theme, papers and panels on
all aspects of world literature will be considered.

Possible topics include, but are not limited to:

* Inside / Outside / In-Between
* Reading the Canon
             * No (Wo)Man=s Land
* Loose Canons
             * Language and / or Literary Borderlands
* Marginal Writings / Writings on the Margins
             * Recovering / Discovering / Uncovering Voices
             * MAJOR LANGUAGES vs minor languages
             * The Canon and Class / The Canon in Class
             * Translation or Interpretation: A Fine Line?
             * To Teach the Canon, or Not to Teach the Canon: Is That
the Question?
             * AAim that Canon the Other Way@
* Hybrid Texts / Textual Hybrids
* Voices in a Textual / Sextual Commons
* Language / Text / Ideology: Reframing the Canon
* (Inter)national Canon(s)?
* The AWorld@ in World Literature

Individual presenters should submit a 250 word abstract; include your
name, complete mailing address, and e mail address. Proposals for
panels must include an abstract for each presenter, as well as names,
addresses and e mail addresses of all participants. Abstracts
submitted as e mail attachments in Word or Word Perfect are preferred
but hard copies will also be accepted.
