The Aphra Behn Society invites panels and papers for its
conference "Heavenly and Earthly Bodies: Exploration
1660-1830" to be held at the University of New Mexico, in
Albuquerque, October 25-27, 2007.

Panels and papers might consider:
Scientific Observation
Technologies of Travel
Imperial Encounters
Religious Conflict
Authorship and Attribution
Supernatural and Uncanny Manifestations
Expressions of Gender and Sexuality
Representations of the Human Body
Imagining the Human Mind
Spiritual Evolutions
Medical Developments
Community Boundaries
  
Please submit contact information (mailing address, email,
and phone) along with panel proposals by April 15th, 2007
and paper abstracts by May 15th, 2007 to Dr. Carolyn
Woodward <woodward_at_unm.edu>.

The conference will include an address by Isobel Grundy
regarding her work on the Orlando Project, an exhibition
of paintings and prints from the period by the University
of New Mexico Art Museum, a performance by the Albuquerque
Baroque Players, and access to editions from the period by
the Center for Southwest Research.
