(dis)junctions 2007: malappropriation nation
politicized aesthetics

This call for papers is for a proposed panel to be
held at (dis)junctions 2007: Malappropriation Nation
at the University of California Riverside's 14th
Annual Humanities Graduate Conference on April 6-7,
2007.

Contributors are invited to submit papers on any
aspect of art/literature and politics and the ways in
which these two categories intersect and overlap.
Potential areas of analysis include (but are not
limited to):
- the relationship between art/artists and
politics/politicians (in the past and the present)
- resistance and reification in popular culture
- artistic intersections of gender, race, and class
- Creative pieces are also appreciated.

Abstracts of 250-300 words should be e-mailed to
tina_stavropoulos_at_yahoo.com by February 16, 2007 (text
in the body of the message; please no attachments).
