Fourteenth Annual Graduate Humanities Conference

This a general call for papers that deal with the author George Elliot. While preference will be given to papers that center on her novels and/or characters, presentations historical in emphasis or biographical will also be considered.

Keynote:
We are pleased to announce that this year’s keynote speakers are Bonnie Zimmerman and Karen Tongson. Bonnie Zimmerman comes to us from San Diego State University where she is associate vice President for Faculty Affairs. She is well-known for her published work in Feminist and Lesbian studies, along with extensive articles and lectures on topics such as and author George Elliot. Karen Tongson is Assistant Professor of English and Gender Studies at the University of Southern California. She has published essays on topics ranging from Thomas Moore's Irish Melodies, to dyke film-maker and provocateur Lynne Chan's JJ Chinois projects. Her current work focuss on emergent queer of color suburban imaginaries.
