Session on the History of Emotions, ESSHC, Lisbon 27 Feb-1 March 2008
(abstract due 15 March 2007)
For a session on the history of emotions at the European Social Science
History Conference (ESSHC) in Lisbon, 27 February - 1 March 2008, I am
looking for papers that might address the following aspects: theoretical
approaches to the historical study of emotions; gender and emotions;
sources for studying emotions; the relationship between body and mind in
the expression of emotions; the relationship between the eighteenth
century cult of sensibility and daily life; emotions and political
culture; emotions and family history; emotions and the history of
childhood and education. Other proposals for papers on the history of
emotions are also welcome.
Please send proposals for papers (app. 200-300 words) before 15 March

Please ensure that a title, your name, affiliation and email address are
included with your abstract.
