CFP: Age Studies and the MLA (3/15/07; MLA '07)
Age and the MLA: a proposed special session topic for the 2007 MLA
in Chicago, IL.
Why is age an important category in literary and cultural analyses?
What matter(s) does critical scholarship on age address? Does age
studies impact all time periods and genres of literature. Is an
analysis of age in literature of similar import as analyses of race,
class, and gender are? Why or why not? Is age studies a narrow
literary theme or a larger category of analysis? Why should MLA
welcome an Age Studies Discussion Group?
