The Lollard Society invites proposals for papers to be held at its next
international conference, "Lollard Affiliations," to be held at Oriel
College, Oxford, in July 2008. The conference will bring together
historians, theologians, literary scholars, and other students of dissenting
religion in late medieval and early modern England. The aim is to explore,
in as interdisciplinary a manner as possible, the numerous contexts that
shaped not only Lollardy itself but also the subsequent historiography of
Lollardy. Sessions will address the relationships between dissenting and
mainstream practice, belief, and writing; methodology in Lollard studies;
vernacular theology; and Lollardy and the Reformation, among other topics.

We welcome proposals for 20- to 30-minute papers from all scholars with
interests in Lollardy and/or its historical, literary, and theological
contexts. Please send a 250-word abstract, along with your contact details
(name, affiliation, address, and e-mail address), to Mishtooni Bose at The deadline for submissions is 1 September

Registration for the conference will open in early summer.
