This is a call for papers for a Saint Louis University-sponsored session
on Archbishop Wulfstan and his Canon Law Collection which will take place
at the International Congress of Medieval Studies at the University of
Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, May 8-11, 2008.

Although best known for his Sermo Lupi ad Anglos, Archbishop Wulfstan
(Wulfstan II) was also Canon Law collector, political theorist, and law
writer. This session seeks to explore the Canon Law Collection of
Wulfstan in terms of its sources, application, and context in late 8th-
century and early 9th-century England. Of specific interest is the
relationship between Wulfstan’s collections and other, non Canon-Law
related texts.
