Telling the Whole Story:
Communication in the Classroom and Community

Join us as we examine our own efforts to tell “the whole story” in today’s
classrooms and communities, facing challenges ranging from course curricula
to information literacy to our attempts to understand competing narratives
about global issues such as climate change, national security, and
international conflict.

Keynote speaker Helen Glover will share her experiences as a Navy
instructor, a contestant on reality television show “Survivor,” and a talk
show host on WHJJ radio.

Proposals are due by November 30, 2007.

Session Formats:
60-minute presentations
Individual or collaborative
Extemporaneous (e.g. workshop, panel, demonstration, lecture, etc.) or
manuscript (reading a paper) presentations

Proposal Guidelines:
100-word presentation proposal that includes: name(s), institutional
affiliation, contact information (including e-mail), target audience
(college or secondary), and equipment needed;
45-word abstract (to be published in program) that indicates the type of
presentation format (e.g. manuscript, workshop, panel, demonstration,
lecture, etc.), content, and session title;
Paragraph describing relevant education and experience, including dates and
institutions.

All presenters are required to register for the conference and submit the
conference fee at the time of acceptance.
